My Genre.
My chosen genre is R&B. I enjoy listening to R&B because of the way the melodies are. It originated from the US particularly from black artists in the. My favorite hip-hop artists are Partynextdoor, Future, Jacquees, Young Thug, Nicki Minaj, Drake & J Cole.
I find these artists so inspiring not only because of they songs and they way there sung the meanings behind every song is always so strong and relatable. i like how i can just vibe with this particular genre.
My two chosen magazines are 'xxl magazine' and 'Vibe magazine'.

Evaluation of Induction Assignment.
In class, our first task to get to know what media studies was about was to create a DPS (double page spread) about a music magazine on our top 5 favourite tracks. This meant we could choose any genre any artist. I thought hard about this as i didn't want to make it boring i wanted to make it really interesting and show off what i could do and show my creative mind off. I was originally going to do someone like Nicki Minaj or Beyoncé but as i looked at many artists i decided to do Rihanna and Drake. I imagined my work to be laid out simple but as i worked on it i changed the simple look and expanded on my idea.
I took a few pictures from Google images only because i couldn't capture my own images. I decided to have one half of the page a full image of my chosen celebrity which in this case was Rihanna. I had about two images of her followed by two image of Drake and spoke about the songs she did with Drake. This was all followed by captions and text boxes explain the whole article. I spoke about my top tracks and used quotes from songs to trigger people's heads whilst reading the article.
I had never used InDesign before so it was all new to me. I learnt how to import images and add text boxes. I also learnt how to make a drop cap. A drop cap is when the first letter of the paragraph is larger than the rest of the text and expands. My one expanded to about 3 lines down. I felt that this was a good thing to do as it looked great and added style. Which is skills that can be used later on in the course. If i could improve this i would erase the amount of writing only because the last textbox at the bottom of the page was very large and i felt like if someone saw that in a magazine they wouldn't want to read as much.
